Scott McLeod- Master Guide

Alaska Raven Guides is a family owned and operated small business. Master Guide, Scott McLeod, is a lifelong Sitka resident and has been guiding since the early 1990’s. He spent decades hunting and commercial fishing, and built a successful business doing what he loves - sharing his passion for the outdoors with clients from around the world. Scott passed on this passion to his son, Dustin, and Alaska Raven Guides continues its tradition of excellence with Dustin now at the helm.

Dustin grew up guiding alongside his father and became an assistant guide at 18 and a registered guide in the years that followed. He has successfully guided hundreds of clients for brown and black bears, mountain goats and deer. Like his dad, Dustin also spent much of his life commercial fishing. This background has provided the McLeod’s with the skills to offer a boat-based guide service that transports clients safely across Alaskan waters.

We are Sitkans through and through. We love where we live and when we’re not guiding, we spend as much time as possible in the outdoors with our family. Being able to spend so much time, year-round, in the areas where we guide truly gives us an edge. It affords us the opportunity to study bears in their natural environment year-round (not all bears in Southeast Alaska hibernate), to learn feed and rest patterns of mountain goats and deer, and the chance to explore new areas and anchorages. All of this knowledge helps us to provide superior service to the hunters that we guide in the spring and fall seasons.

Dustin and his wife Chelsea are lifelong Sitkans - both with strong roots in Southeast Alaska. Chelsea’s family has been in the region for generations. She is part of a multigenerational fishing family and is also a descendant of the Tlingit tribe - the indigenous people of Southeast Alaska.

Chelsea feels very connected to this wild place and she enjoys spending her time outdoors, taking part in subsistence activities like hunting, fishing, and berry picking, and passing these traditions down to her children.
